Collection: The 100 Suns
I 100 Soli (The 100 Suns) is a series of one hundred paintings, each depicting the archetype of the Sun in a different way. One hundred unique, never-replicated works, created with mixed media on 300 g acid-free paper. The styles vary from figurative to abstract.
This project is a celebration of solitude observed in its brightest aspect, of encountering oneself.
The title plays on the phonetic ambivalence of the word "soli": understood both as the plural of "sole" (sun), a luminous and vital star, and as the plural of "solo" (alone), the adjective that evokes isolation.
Each Sun is an emblem of a state of mind: some take on the appearance of figurative faces, others are composed of abstract forms. Together they form a choral narrative of the human experience, where each person can recognize fragments of themselves. Observing these suns, some might catch your attention and generate an emotional resonance. I myself, even having created them all, found my own fragment among I 100 Soli. One in particular stood out among the others, like the surface of a mirror.
